AV2010 - cannot get rid of it to save my life

Ive used windows defender - found nothing
Spy Doctor - wants me to pay £30 to buy license
AntiMalware - for some reason wont run
Spyhunter - same wants to charge to remove all the infections its found

Im getting spammed every minute by a fake windows security screen and I have toolbar icon spamming alerts that my system has been hacked every 10seconds.

Read up about 10 guides on it now - all selling their spyware removal for loads of bucks - read some manual removal guides and in all - the files they list arent on my pc.

Ive done a restore and again no fix.

Im running out of ideas and I read it can get nasty - ie will keylog and all sorts, even fake blue screen you causing to reboot saying virus and to buy their product(which doesnt exisist)

Im on spyware blaster but its not scanning its just protecting from this moment of install....

Running out of ideas and it appears this may be the death of my trust old pc

read many a guide this is spyware designed to annoy you or scare you into giving them money for a product that doesnt exisist - as with all things cancel and do not hit any buttons.

But im being spammed just sitting idle on my pc - it blocks every web page saying its a trojan also - which is nice

If wondering I was looking at a torrent site, anytorrent or something came up in google under new torrent search

Do you have another computer available? If so, use that for downloading any software for now and unplug the other box from the intertubes.

If you can't DL anything securely, then try to find a AV software that offers a bootable CD/DVD. Boot from that and do the scans then. Do NOT attempt to run the scans while running your infected OS. The results are nowhere near reliable as the trojan/virus may already have altered the AV scanner to stay undetected.

Swallow done and burn the money on the AV software. Free stuff is nice, but often it's not reliable at all and leaves you unprotected. I have good experience with both Avira and Norton. At least Norton offers a bootable recovery DVD. There's also a software suit called Desinfe'ct, but that's German and I do not know whether they added an English language support already.

If all fails, try to burn the data you want to save on DVD or backup it other wise. Reinstall, install the AV software on your virgine system and make sure that you scan the data for infections before you copy it back.

Then im off to runs Kets advice from safe mode.

It was so quick one minute im looking at new torrents - no prompts and the next bam this for the last 2hrs.

Like you say a new HD or paying for protection just might be my last resort

Norton I hated due it was so scared - it blocked itself once asking me if i trusted it....errr its ur updater....

Try downloading Avast! Security. It's a very good free antivirus.

I'm running Norton on both Windows 7 and Windows XP with next to now issues. The last two versions have received decent marks in most tests.

By the way, there are several guides and removal programs on the web, have you checked that out?

Yep read all the guides - as above - all the spyware stuff can see but wont remove it till you pay. Safe mode and AVG ran on command line for 2 and half hrs and didnt find a thing or do anything

The manual method simply doesnt work as the files they say are there - arent on my pc.

Stopzilla has stopped it - again its asking for registration/sub to remove it, and now its fooked every link - for eg - clicking on firefox prompts the "what programme do you want to run this with?" - if you choose the firefox.exe it gives you about 3 error messages and then asks you to save the exe - and then opens.

My pc is f***ked
